Following the extremely successful Pink Peace Scarf event at Aldermaston in August, and a textile group in September stitching blankets, we have a huge blanket made of knitted squares that needs dissecting into smaller blankets that can be sent off to disaster zones around the world.

We will be attempting this task on Friday 17th October 4-6pm at my house. If you are free and would like to help let me know. Also feel free to bring along your own sewing projects if the blanket thing doesn't appeal.

Address: Daneway Cottage, 6 Bowbridge Lane, Stroud, GL5 2JW

Directions: From Stroud Hospital go along Bowbridge Lane past Cowle Road on your right. My house is a couple of houses past this also on the right. The house just before mine is yellow!

So sorry about the short notice of Alice's rag rugging. 4 of us made it and had a superb morning coming away wanting more.
Luckily we can do this again, this time we have Sue Ratcliffe showing us rag rugging skills at the co-housing on Saturday 8th November from 10-1pm and a shared lunch. Please let me know if you want to come and I will send you directions. You need to bring material such as tee shirts, good scissors and some hessian.

Faced with challenges of climate change, an unstable political world and the tension of living within an increasingly stressed world, it's good to have space to reflect and explore feelings about all this. Joanna Macy’s work over many years has shown this workshop process strengthens people in their choices and resolve about how they live their life or do their work.

Active hope is about the kind of hope you need to carry on, when you do not have certainty about how things will be in the future for you and the next generation.

An opportunity will be made available to discuss the interest in the group meeting regularly

Fiona trained with Joanna Macey in the 1990s and recently again with Chris Johnstone , co authors of “Active hope” and “Great turning time”, and in her professional work is a facilitator and training consultant working with groups for over 30 years. She has lived in Stroud for 20 years.
