SkillsGain Taster Courses

Courses on growing food, mending and revitalising clothes, the fundamentals of health, composting, knitting, woodland skills and willow Christmas decorations.

May to December 2010

SkillsGain is one of Transition Stroud's initiatives.  It focuses on those self reliance skills we will need tomorrow and offers taster courses in these skills today.

Courses last 2 hours, are delivered by skilled volunteers and are open to all residents of the Stroud district.  A contribution, usually £3, is asked for to cover venue hire and materials used - with tuition free.  Each taster course will give information on how and where additional learning/skills can be accessed.

Through the SkillsGain taster programme, it is hoped many people will go on to gain new skills.  So come along to a SkillsGain Workshop - aimed at reskilling the community for our changing world.  All events are run by the community for the community, and are aimed at sharing knowledge, increasing confidence and having fun!
