Our focus is on skill sharing – from basic crafts like needlework and knitting to fabric making, dyeing and printing. We want to show others that it can be fun to make your own clothes, update your old ones or exchange with others through charity shops, freecycle or clothes swap parties.
Four or us met at Su Bittlestone’s house on Tuesday 29th September. WE had a fun evening, clothes swapping, mending, admiring Sue’s atmospheric paintings and lovely garden. Thanks to Su for the wonderful hospitality – the homemade flapjacks were much appreciated.
Further meetings are announced on the Events listing and google calendar.

See you there.
In the long term we would like to get hemp growing in the area and to once again see fabric being produced locally using hemp and local wool.
We have already held a successful fashion show where local producers were able to show off their garments and members of our group demonstrated how old clothes could be given a new look with a little imagination and some basic needlework skills.
