Wood-u-Waste
Wood U Waste is a Stroud-based charity working to alleviate the hardships caused by fuel poverty. Its briquette project delivers free recycled wood fuel to local people struggling to heat their homes and this winter the charity is urging people who don’t need their £200 winter fuel payment to donate part or all of it to its Winter Fuel Payment Appeal. All money raised from this Appeal will be split equally between four local organisations working on the front line to keep the elderly and vulnerable warm this winter.

An important part of Wood U Waste’s work is to raise awareness about energy saving. The charity has worked in partnership with Transition Stroud to deliver Green Lifestyle evening lectures at Stroud College and is currently in discussion with TS about exciting new workshop ideas to promote effective energy saving in older homes.
